Police have arrested two alleged killers of Dubai expatriate’s wife, who was strangled to death in a flat on March 5 in Chittagong city’s Bayezid area, from Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar.
Police also recovered the looted gold ornaments weighting about 40 grams from two gold shops in Chittagong district’s Raozan upazila and claimed to find out the motive behind the gruesome murder.
The arrestees were Md Yasin, 27, son of late Nurul Islam and Md Mansur, 25, son of Md Musa, said police sources. The arrestees made their confessional statements before the metropolitan magistrate Nowrin Akhtar Kakon in this connection on Wednesday.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Santosh Kumar Chakma of Detective Branch (DB) police said: “A joint team comprising DB and Bayezid police station arrested the duo from the Hotel Naf International in Cox’s Bazar Teknaf on secret information while the looted gold ornament were recovered from two shops--Gohira Fashion Jewelers and Madhabanda Jewelers in Raozan”.
Pervin Akhter, 36, was strangled to death by a group of unidentified miscreants at a flat in Chittagong city’s Rowfabad area underBayezid police station on March 5 in front his son.
Later, her husband filed a case accusing indentified persons in this connection.
