Police are interrogating two persons arrested over two separate incidents of child rape occurred in the city last week.
In another incident, police arrested and remanded a Hazaribagh restaurant owner for sexually assaulting four children at his house.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Yunus Ali yesterday placed a youth on a three-day remand after he was produced before the court by Mohammadpur police with a seven-day remand prayer.
The youth, who could not be named immediately, is accused of raping a three-year-old at Rayerbazar on Thursday afternoon, police said.
In another case filed with Jatrabari police, the same court placed a man on a one-day remand for raping an eight-year-old girl at a rice store in Gobindapur Graveyard area of Jatrabari on March 6.
The Hazaribagh hotel owner, Mizanur Rahman, was arrested on Thursday morning and produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court. He was placed on a two-day remand.
Father of one of the victims filed the case with Hazaribagh police on Wednesday. He said that Mizan resides at his flat as a subtenant. The accused sexually harassed the girl in the room where she was asked to go to help him in the kitchen.
The three other children were threatened and sexually assaulted in a similar way, the plaintiff said, adding that Mizan had confessed to committing the crimes during an arbitration held on March 5.
