With a slogan “Stop violence against children”, Children Forum, an NGO of Khulna yesterday arranged a human chain in association with Jagrata Juba Shangha (JJS) and Unicef at Royal Chattar in Khulna city with a call to ensure exemplary punishment to the killers of four schoolboys.
More than 100 children forum members, Khulna participated in the human chain. They used placard, banner and festoons with different slogan “Sontan hara mayer akuti, shishu hotta bondho kori”, “Ar koto shishur jhorbe pran, shishu hottar hok oboshan” etc.
Chairperson of Children Forum Ashik Elahi said: “We are strongly protesting the killing of four children and demanding exemplary punishment.”
Meherunnessa Liza, general secretary of the Forum, urged the government to ensure protection and rights of every child.
Assistant Project Coordinator of JJS, Abdul Baki also present in the human chain and said the government should be carefully to protect the children.
Four schoolboys who had gone missing from Sundrateki village in Bahubal upazila on February 12 were found buried at the village on February 17.
Police recovered the bodies of Zakaria Ahmed Shuvo, 8, his two cousins – Tajel Miah, 10, Monir Miah, 7, and Ismail Hossain, 10.
