The prime accused of a murder case has been killed in a “gunfight” with police in Moheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah.
The deceased is Sentu, 28.
The incident took place early Tuesday, said Moheshpur police station OC Aminul Islam Biplob. “Sentu was the prime accused in a murder case filed over the death of a Saloon owner. He was arrested on Monday.
“Later, The law enforcers conducted a drive at Holudpara with Sentu to recover arms and ammunition. Sensing the presence of the police, Sentu's associates opened fire on us, prompting the law enforcers to retaliate by firing back."
The criminal got caught in the line of fire and died, said the OC. " Two police constables sustained injuries in the incident."
