Update : 21 Feb 2016, 07:40 PM

Two men were killed by their nephews in a clash over money and land property disputes in Manikganj’s Singair upazila yesterday.

The victims - Nannu Mollah, 50, son of Dirgaj Mollah of Gobindhal village, and Aziz Mollah, 55, son of late Rahim Mollah – were paternal cousins.

Five others were also injured in the attack and were sent to hospital. One of them was said to be in a critical condition.

Singair police station Officer-in-Charge Syeduzzaman said Zahidul, nephew of Nannu, his two brothers and several others attacked Nannu and Aziz with locally-made weapons after an altercation over money and properties at Zahidul’s house.

“Nannu and Aziz died on the scene. Their bodies were sent to Manikganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

“The attackers left the scene immediately and no one has yet been detained but police recovered the weapons used in the attack.

“We are looking for the perpetrators. A case will be filed in this connection as well,” added OC Syeduzzaman.
