The police have recovered the hanging body of a female student of Rajshahi University from a house in the city's Tikapara area on Friday.
The deceased is Farzana Afroze Fatema, a first year student of Agronomy and Agricultural Extension Department of Rajshahi University (RU).
SI Selim Reza of Boalia police station told the Dhaka Tribune: “Hailing from Magura district, Fatema had been staying with her husband Rubel Hossain at the rented house of one Sukkur Mia.
“Rubel on Tuesday went to Bogra for Job purpose. The last time Fatema talked to her husband was on Friday morning.”
“Since then she kept the doors of her room shut. Failing to get any response from her, the house owner informed the police and we recovered her hanging body in the evening,” added the SI. Asked whether the RU student committed suicide, the police official said: “Details regarding the matter can be said once the autopsy is done.”
