A mobile court conducting separate drives in the port city fined six eateries with Tk1.73 yesterday.
Md Foyez Ullah, assistant director of Department of National Consumer Rights Protection, fined five eateries with Tk73 for making food in unhygienic environment.
“Zilani Hotel was fined with Tk18,000, Ruhul Amin and Restaurant with Tk10,000, ABP Hotel with Tk25,000, Iran Hotel with Tk5,000 and Monjenis with Tk15,000,” said the assistant director.
Meanwhile, Ruhul Amin, executive magistrate of Chittagong District Administration, led another mobile court at Chawk Bazar area in the city and fined Chawk Malancha with 1 lakh.
“Chawk Malancha was fined for making food in unhygienic condition. Although the eatery was authorised for using two burners, it was using four burners,” added the executive magistrate.
