Police have recovered the body of a female worker of a cotton mill from Adabor Lalpukur area under Sreepur upazila of Gazipur.
The corpse of Kalpana Aktar, 28, a worker of local Akbar Cotton Mills, was found early Friday.
Sreepur police station Sub-Inspector Ashrafuzzaman said Kalpana and her husband Siddique Miah hailed from Trisal upazila of Mymensingh and the couple had long been living in a rented house in Adabor Lalpukur area.
Around 10pm Thursday, Kalpana left her workplace for home and since then she remained missing. At one stage of hectic search, Siddique, a transport worker by profession, found Kalpana's body in sewerage line near his residence and he informed local police.
“Kalpana might have been killed by strangulating. We are investigating the incident,” said SI Ashrafuzzaman
The body was sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
