Customs Intelligence officials have seized eight gold bars weighing around 2.6 kilograms at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
Airport Customs Deputy Director Ridaul Islam said the gold bars were seized from the body of a person, Ibrahim Mia, on Thursday.
He said: “Ibrahim reached Dhaka from Kuala Lumpur around 6:40pm and customs officials detained him for his suspicious movement. Later, the gold bars were found tied with his body.”
