Burnt body of housewife found in Geneva Camp

Update : 10 Feb 2016, 12:58 PM

The burnt body of a housewife has been recovered from a house in the capital's Geneva Camp.

The deceased is Rani Begum, 20, wife of Saheb Ali.

The police have picked Saheb up for quizzing, said SI Aminur Rahman of Mohammadpur police station.

Locals said they saw smoke emanating from the room of Rani and called the police, suspecting something was wrong.

Being informed, the law enforcers rushed in, broke open the doors of the room and recovered the burnt body of the woman around 3:30pm Wednesday.

Rani's brother Jony alleged that his brother-in-law killed his sister over family feud.

He said: “They got married some five months ago. But, they often locked in altercations over family matters. Saheb might have killed my sister following any such quarrel.”
