Chinese businessman murdered in Jessore

Update : 15 Dec 2016, 06:05 PM
A Chinese businessman was beaten to death with an iron pipe in Jessore on Wednesday night, allegedly by his Bangladeshi assistant over an outstanding debt. Jessore police chief Anisur Rahman said they recovered Hesong's body from his warehouse toilet on Thursday morning and had detained his 26-year-old assistant, Nazmul Hasan Parvez, and his assistant's nephew, Muktadir Rahman, 20, over the murder. “Nazmul and his nephew hit him on the head with an iron pipe before beating him to death on late Wednesday night at the warehouse,” Anisur said, adding that the killers took the victim's phone and switched it off. "Hesong's wife, who lives in Dhaka, called Nazmul that night after failing to place a call to her husband," the SP said. "Nazmul told her that his boss was missing (and so) Hesong's wife asked him to inform police." SP Anisur said police detained Nazmul when he came to file a complaint over his missing employer. During an initial interrogation, he confessed that he and his nephew had murdered Hesong. Police Bureau of Investigation's Additional SP Abdul Motin said Hesong's wife flew to Jessore on Thursday morning. The aggrieved woman pounced on the suspects when they were brought to the spot. Their driver, Washkuruni Mamun, claimed a dispute over Tk500 had led to the murder.
