Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith yesterday told Parliament that a total of 2944.208 kg gold had been seized in the last three years.
The amount of seized gold is 784.17 kg in 2015, 1539.628 kg in 2014 while 620.41 kg in 2013, he said replying to a question.
Muhith said in the presence of all representatives concerned, the seized gold and foreign currency are measured at airports, custom houses and custom stations, and deposited in Bangladesh Bank with police protection.
