A Chittagong court yesterday sentenced life-term imprisonment to two people for selling abusive drugs.
Chittagong Sessions Court Judge Md Shahnur passed the order in presence of Iqbal Hossen while another convict Kutub Uddin has remained absconding for long.
According to the prosecution, the duo was arrested with 600 bottles of phensidyl from Battery Goli area, Kotowali police station, on March 22, 2009.
Tapon Kanti Sharma, inspector of Department of Narcotics Control, Chittagong filed a case under Narcotics Control Acts on the same day. On April 18 in the same year, the investigation officer of the case Dhananjoy Chandra Devnath pressed the charge sheets against them.
