An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League has been killed in an attack by rival group of the same party in Sylhet.
The deceased is Kazi Habib, an activist of Chhatra League and a fourth-year BBA student of Sylhet International University. He was a resident of Brahmanbaria.
Witnesses said a group of Chhatra League men led by Hussain Ahmed Sagar and Sohel attacked Kazi with sharp weapons at Shahimabadh International University's ground around 11:30am Tuesday, leaving him critically injured.
Students took Kazi to Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet. Later, he was shifted to Mount Adora Hospital where he died around 11pm.
Kotwali OC Sohel Ahmed confirmed about the death to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said police visited the spot soon after hearing about the incident.
