Members of Rapid Action Battalion in a drive have arrested two drug peddlers in possession with 2,100 bottles of phensedyl from a truck on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Sitakunda upazila in Chittagong.
Police also seized a truck that was carrying the phensedyl.
The arrestees are Md Khokon, 28, the assistant of the truck’s driver and Md Mostafiz, 21, the helper of the truck, said RAB 7 sources.
Assistant Director of RAB 7 Media Wing Amirulla said: “Acting on tip-off, a team of RAB led by Major Jahangir raided the truck coming from Comilla and arrested the duo. Later searching the truck, RAB recovered 2,100 bottles phensedyl worth about Tk8.40 lakh.
A case was filed in this connection, he said.
