A suspected thief has been beaten to death in Agarpara area under Ramganj upazila in Lakshmipur.
The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained yet.
Locals said the suspected thief swooped into the house of one Dewan Bachchu early Thursday. The residents of the house beat him to death suspecting him to be a thief.
Later, police went to the spot and recovered the body in the morning.
Ramganj OC Solaiman Chowdhury said: “Three residents of the house have been detained for interrogation.”
