The missing persons are Alkhas Mia, 35, a resident of the village, his younger brother Faisal Ahmed, 17, and Ansar Ali, a resident of Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh.
Aftab Mia, elder brother of Alkhas Mia, said few days ago Ansar came to their house as a guest and stayed there. On Thursday morning, a team of around 10-12 armed persons in plain clothes entered their house identifying themselves as RAB members and picked them up.
He said: “The plainclothes people told us that Ansar was wanted in a case. They were taking Alkhas and Faisal for primary interrogation. But the trio remained missing since the day.”
He also alleged that RAB and police could not inform them anything about the trio’s whereabouts when they visited Srimangal RAB-9 camp and Kulaura police station.
The RAB, however, denied the allegation claiming that they did not pick up anyone.
When contacted, Srimangal RAB-9 camp Captain Assistant Superintendent of Police Main Uddin Chowdhury said: “We did not carry out any drive at Amani village on Thursday.”
He told that miscreants posing them as RAB might have been abducted the trio over previous enmity.
Abdul Malik, chairman of Tilagaon union, said he knew about the incident and advised victim’s family to GD with police station.
Shamsudoha, officer-in-charge of Kulaura police station, said: “We do not know anything about the incident.”
