Schoolteacher murdered in Cox's Bazar

Update : 06 Jan 2016, 08:10 AM

A gang of miscreants has gunned down a schoolteacher inside his residence in Barobil area under Ramu upazila of the district.

The victim of brutal killing, which took place early Wednesday, is Nurussafa, 36, teacher of Barobil Government Primary School.

Besides, Nurussafa's brother Abdul Mazid sustained bullet injuries in the firing and he was admitted to local health complex.

When contacted, Eidgarh UP Chairman Firoz Ahmad Butto said a gang of abductors kidnapped two people including Nurussafa's brother Mazid about six months ago and later locals with the help of police rescued them from a deep forest.

In the incident, Nurussafa launched a case with Ramu police station against the masterminds Mahi Uddin and Abul Kasem and four others and police arrested them as well.

Afterwards a local court made an order of keeping the accused in jail and Nurussafa's role infuriated them.

Some days ago, the alleged miscreants came out on bail and they might have run the killing mission around 1:45am, the chairman added.

Eidgarh police investigation centre in-charge Minhaz Mahmud Bhuiyan said: “We are unable to say who committed the murder. Police are carrying out drives to arrest the killers.”

They recovered the body and sent it to the district hospital morgue for autopsy, Minhaz continued.
