Update : 05 Jan 2016, 06:45 AM

Two people have been killed and five others got injured in a bomb attack over land dispute at Gangadashpur under Jibannagar upazila in Chuadanga.

The deceased are M Ali alias Salam, 23, son of late Javed Ali, and Shahabuddin, of the same village, reports UNB.

Locals said some landless people had been living on a piece of land since the Liberation War of 1971. The land is about 116 acre.

However, one Abdul Hey Tuku of Drashana and some local people claimed the ownership of the land four years ago.

Since then several clashes took place centring the ownership of the land.

Following the matter, some miscreants hurled four to five crude bombs at some villagers while they were in gossiping in a tea stall around 6pm Monday, leaving Salam dead on the spot and injuring the others.

Jibannagar OC Humayan Kabir said the injured were taken to the upazila health complex and later shifted to Jessore 250-bed Hospital for better treatment.

He said Shahabuddin died at the Jessore Hospital in the night.
