An assistant teacher of Shuktail Union High School in Sadar upazila was suspended yesterday for harassing a female student sexually.
Sources said Abdullah Al Mamun, the teacher of the school, was the tutor of the girl, an SSC candidate. She was also married.
Mamun developed illicit relation with her and recorded the footage of their relation.
When Mamun went to his village home recently at Mahanag village in Kashinai, his wife found the footage and sent it to a neighour of the girl. The neighour spread the footage among the villagers.
Later, the villagers informed the incident to Sadar Upazila Nirbahai Officer Md Jalaluddin.
Jalaluddin ordered Shahidul Haque, the headmaster of the school to suspend the accused the teacher. The headmaster called an urgent meeting of the managing committee.
The committee suspended him in the morning.
Idris Ali, sub-inspector of Sadar police station, said Mamun went into hiding after the incident.
