Police arrested 129 persons, including 23 activists of BNP- Jamaat men, conducting an overnight night drives at different upazilas in Chittagong yesterday.
Chittagong District Police’s Additional Superintendent of Police (special branch) Muhammed Naimul Hasan told the Dhaka Tribune that police arrested 23 activists of BNP-Jamaat by conducting raid in Sitakunda and Mirsarai upazila who were accused of different case filed for subversive act.
Apart from that police also held 87 warrant accused and 19 accused in regular cases lodged in different police stations in the district, said the high police official.
During the drive, police also recovered a pistol, two rounds of cartridges and seven homemade arms.
