Police in an overnight special drives have arrested 112 persons from different upazilas in Chittagong district on Sunday in connection with various cases.
During the drives police also seized 234 liters of liquor from Patiya upazila and 700 grams of cannabis from Sitakunda upazila.
Chittagong District’s Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) Muhammed Naimul Hasan told the Dhaka Tribune that police arrested 86 warrant accused while 26 accused of regular cases were also captured during the drives.
It is mentionable that police have been conducting the special drives since last few days to capture the accused in different cases along with BNP-Jamaat-Shibir men who were the accused in the cases lodged for subversive activities.
