A housewife has been murdered allegedly by her husband over family feud at Gopinathpur village in Sadar upazila early Sunday.
The victim is Aleya Khatun, 40. Aleya’s husband Raham Ali went into hiding soon after committing the murder.
Yunus Ali, Aleya's nephew, said Raham Ali had been torturing his wife physically and mentally for three years raising an allegation of extramarital affair against her; even there were several arbitrations in the village to settle the matter.
The couple's daughter Rahima Khatun said she wake up by an unusual sound before dawn and found that her father was coming out of the house quickly with a sharp weapon and her mother's body was found lying in the pool of blood.
Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (investigation) AHM Kamruzzaman said: “Preliminary signs have indicated that the murder appears centring family feud between the couple.”
The body was sent to the morgue of Chuadanga Sadar Hospital for autopsy and registering a case in this connection was under process, the OC continued.
