Police arrested 111 people including 12 leaders and activists of Islami Chhattra Shibir from Bakalia area in the city and different upazilas of the district yesterday.
Of them, four Shibir activists were held from Bakalia area while eight others were arrested from Kaliaish union under Lohagara upazila while they were holding clandestine meeting.
Additional Superintendent of Police Muhammed Naimul Hasan told the Dhaka Tribune that police arrested 99 persons from the different upazilas while 86 were warrant accused and 13 were accused in regular cases filed on different charges. Apart from that police arrested eight Shibir men from Kaliaish area of Lohagara while holding a secret meeting.
