Customs officials have seized 120 gold bars, weighing 14kg, at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The gold bars were seized from a flight of Regent Airways on Friday morning.
Readul Islam, assistant commissioner of Dhaka Customs House, told the Dhaka Tribune: “Acting on a tip-off we searched an aircraft of Regent Airways after it arrived at the airport around 8:30am and recovered the gold bars.
“The bars weigh 10 tolas each. The estimated price of the gold is Tk7 crore.”
However, no one was detained in this connection.
