A couple has reportedly committed suicide by hanging themselves simultaneously in their room of a house at Chandipur area under Rajpara police station in the city of Rajshahi.
They were identified as Sharmin Khatun, 19, and Abdul Momin, 22, police said, reports BSS.
Quoting locals, Mustaque Hossain, Sub-inspector of the police station, said Sharmin Khatun hailed from Shitlai village under Paba Upazila of the district. She was a second year student of Rajshahi Diabetics Association Nursing College. Momin, who hailed from Chalk Radhinath village under Manda Upazila of Naogaon district, was a fourth year student of Rajshahi Islami Bank Nursing College.
On Friday night, they committed suicide, creating sensation in the area, police and locals said.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the hanging bodies.
Around three months back, they rented the room identifying themselves as husband and wife and have been staying there since then.
Police sent the bodies to Rajshahi Medical College morgue for post mortem, Mustaque Hossain added.
