A businessman has been hacked to death by miscreants at Nagorer Pol area of Kawnia in Barisal.
The victim was identified as Zafar Mia, 40, a grocery shop owner and son of late Awal Mia from Slate Factory area in Kawnia area under ward no-2 of the city.
Kazi Mahbubur Rahman, Kawnia police station officer- -in-charge, said Zafar Mia was severely injured for chopping by unidentified miscreants at about 11pm on Friday.
He was admitted at Barisal Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital in critical condition and later referred to Dhaka for better treatment as his condition deteriorated early Saturday.
However, after crossing Mawa ferry Zafar succumbed to his injuries on way to Dhaka early Saturday.
