Indian court orders Nur Hossain’s repatriation

An Indian court has ordered the extradition of Nur Hossain, the prime suspect in the seven-murder case in Narayanganj.

Additional chief judicial magistrate of North 24 Parganas district Sandipan Chakrabarty gave the order on Friday at Barasat of Kolkata, BBC Bangla reports.

West Bengal government prosecutor Bikash Ranjan Dey said the magistrate accepted his plea for withdrawal of the cases of illegal intrudes filed against Nur Hossain.

The government had earlier decided to withdraw the cases of illegal against Nur Hossain in view of the 'more serious criminal charges against him in Bangladesh'.

 "India government has also decided to accept Bangladesh's request to repatriate Nur Hossain for the trial of multiple murders. He is a dangerous criminal as Interpol issued a red corner notice against him,” the West Bengal government prosecutor said.

Indian administration, responsible in this regard hinted that Nur Hossain will be sent back to Bangladesh soon.

It is the first time India is sending a Bangladeshi national on trial after the extradition treaty between the two countries.

Nur Hossain was arrested with three of his accomplices in Kaliakair area under Baguhati police on June 14 last year.

Earlier on April 27, NCC panel mayor Nazrul Islam and six others were abducted. Later, their bodies have been recovered from Shitalaykha River on April 30.

Nazrul's wife filed an abduction case against Nur Hossain on April 28.
