A Khulna court has started recording witness deposition in the murder case of 12-year-old Rakib, who died after the alleged murderers pumped air into his stomach on August 3.
During almost four hours of proceedings yesterday, acting judge Dilruba Sultana of Khulna’s Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court heard testimonies and cross-examinations of seven witnesses.
The witnesses who testified yesterday are: Rakib’s father and also the plaintiff Nurul Alam; those who prepared the inquest report – SI Jahirul Islam, Constables Moksedul Islam and Badrul Alam; Rakib’s uncle Khokon Sheikh, Mizan Hawlader and Jahidul Islam.
The court has directed eight more witnesses to be present before the court today for further hearing.
