A teenaged girl was abducted from Gopalpur village under Begumganj upazila in the district yesterday.
The victim is Marjahan Akter, 14, daughter of Abul Khaer of Madhupur village. She is a class eight student of Madhupur Dakhil Madrasa. Police quoting the locals said Marjahan was going to Madrasa as usual. On her way to the madrasa, three youths led by Azim forcefully picked up her into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and left the scene. Azim is the son Mojibul Haque of the village.
Md Golam Farooq, officer-in-charge of Begumganj Model police station confirming the incident said that Parvin Akter Bakul, mother of the girl filed a case accusing Azim and his father.
