A court in the district yesterday sentenced a couple to life term imprisonment in a murder case filed in 2011. According to the prosecution, Sajeda Begum of Simrail area had been married off with Harunur Rashid of Ramnagar area 10 years ago.
After two years of their marriage, Harun also married another woman named Manowara Khatun while Sajeda was mother of two children. Harun had been living with his two wives and children at a rented house in Nilida area.
On June 22, 2011, Harun and Manowara Killed her over a family feud and left the house. On June 30, a case was filed accusing them.
On June 30,2012, police submitted charge sheet in this connection. After examining records and witnesses, Judge Altaf Hossain handed down the verdict.
