The head of military wing of the banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), who was detained on Monday, has been killed in a grenade explosion during a drive in Oxygen area of Chittagong city.
Javed, 22, was declared dead when he was taken to Chittagtong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) early Tuesday.

Detective Branch (DB) of police ADC (North and South) Md Babul Akhter said five JMB members were detained from Koashnagor area on Monday evening.
He said: “On information from Javed, we conducted a drive at a resident in Ananna Residential Area along with the detainee in the early hours of Tuesday to bust their den."
“A grenade was kept in the house which exploded when we entered it. Javed and three police officials were injured in the explosion.”
Later, Javed was declared dead when he was taken to CMCH.
The ADC said Sub-Inspectors Elias and Liakat Ali and Constable Foysal are being treated at the hospital.
He said: “Javed was the mastermind of the murder of a local shrine custodian and his associate in Baizid area. They were murdered on September 4.”
