A youth has been hacked to death by miscreants at Shah Amanat Colony on Bordighirpar-Bhatiyari link road under Hathazari upazila in Chittagong early Wednesday.
The deceased is Salauddin Lavlu, 26, son of Abdul Malek.
OC (investigation) Salauddin Chowdhury of Hathazari police station said miscreants left the body on the spot after hacking him with sharp weapons in the midnight.
Being informed by locals, police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for autopsy, the OC said.
The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained immediately.
Police were investigating the incident while a case was filed in this connection, he added.
