Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) 1 have recovered 5000 tortoises from Ashkuna Medical College area in the capital and arrested one person in this connection.
RAB 1 Operation Officer ASP Muhith Kabir Serniabat confirmed about the recovery of tortoise to the Dhaka Tribune.
A team of RAB 1, in a drive, recovered the 5000 tortoises from Ashkuna area and held a man involved in the incident, said Muhith.
Details will be disclosed at a press conference at 7pm, he added.
