A woman and two children were raped in separate incidents in the capital this week. They are currently admitted at the DMCH.
The woman, a 19-year-old housewife, said she was visiting a former neighbour named Selina Begum in the capital’s Gendaria area when she was attacked.
On Monday afternoon, a group of five men came to Selina’s house, one of them posing as a journalist while the others as policemen. After getting into the house, the miscreants allegedly locked Selina inside a bathroom, while four of them raped the victim.
Sub-Inspector Emarat Hossain of Gendaria police station said they would start investigation after the victim’s husband reached Dhaka.
Meanwhile, a three-an-a-half-year-old girl was brought to the hospital around 11:30pm from Demra. Her relatives said a neighbour had lured the child into his house and raped her earlier that day. Demra police has detained a man named Rony in connection with the rape.
Another child, 4, was brought in around 2am yesterday. Her parents said her cousin Sajib, 15 had raped her and fled the scene.
