A mobile court yesterday sentenced a food processing factory owner to two years’ imprisonment for having unhygienic manufacturing environment.
The court jointly led by Executive Magistrate Firoz Ahmed and RAB 1 ASP Mohammad Fazle Elahi also fined the convict, Jalal Miah, 35, Tk200,000. The drive was conducted in the capital’s Uttarkhan area around 2:30pm.
RAB 1 Operation Officer ASP Muhit Kabir Serniabat said apart from unhygienic environment they failed to show any legal document or licence for running the operation of their factory. So, the court sentenced the factory owner to two years’ imprisonment. Later, the court sealed off the factory, added the RAB official.
