Two siblings have been burnt in an acid attack in front of Boira PMG Colony in Khulna.
Kaniz Fatema, 25, and her bother Shaon, 22, came under the attack while they were returning home from coaching classes on Monday night.
The victims' father Ayub Ali Sharif said: “Kaniz went her coaching centre in the evening. She was returning home with her younger brother Shaon on a motorcycle when two miscreants riding on another motorcycle threw acid on them when they reached the gate of the colony.”
He said the attackers could not be identified as they were wearing helmets.
The victims were admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital's burn unit in a critical condition.
Khulna Assistant Police Super (Shonadanga and sadar zone) Sheikh Mahbubur Rahman said: “The attackers fled the scene soon after the incident. Ayub has filed a case with Shonadanga police station.”
He said police have started the investigation in the case.
