A suspected robber has sustained bullet injury in a “gunfight” between police and robbers in Kasba area of Brahmanbaria district.
The injured is Ibrahim Mia, 32.
Kasba OC Md Mohiuddin said: “Acting on a tip-off, we conducted a drive in Monokshail Balur Math area around 2:30am Monday.”
Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the robbers opened fire at the police.
In retaliation, police fired back that left Ibrahim bullet wounded.
The OC said: “Ibrahim has been admitted to district sadar hospital under police custody. He is an accused in eight cases, including arms and robbery filed.”
A pipe-gun, five rounds of cartridges and two machetes were found from the spot.
