An ex army man has allegedly been stabbed to death by dacoit in Kalihati upazila of Tangail early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Ramjan Ali, 55, of Isapur village of the upazila.
Sahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kalihati police station said a gang of dacoit entered the house of Ramjan breaking grill for robbery.
The dacoits stabbed him while he tried to resist them and flee the scene with a motorcycle, cash and 30 voris of gold, he said.
Later local people rushed Ramjan to Tangail Medical College Hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead.
