One of the main accused in the killing of Rakib, the 12-year-old who was killed earlier this month when air was pumped into his rectum, has confessed before a Khulna court.
Md Sharif, the owner of the garage where the victim previously worked at, gave his confessional statement to the court of Khulna Metropolitan Magistrate Faruk Iqbal yesterday. The magistrate then sent the accused to jail.
Sharif confessed under section 164 of the penal code on the second of his five-day remand, said Khulna Sadar police station OC Sukumar Bishwash. Another suspect, Mintu Miah, continues to be interrogated under remand, he added.
On August 7, Sharif’s mother Beauty Begum also confessed her complicity in the killing.
