A 17-year old diploma student was gang raped in the Kutubkhali area of Jatrabari in Dhaka yesterday. Police have detained the three rapists from the spot where the girl was raped.
The girl came to Dhaka from her hometown Narayanganj yesterday afternoon with a friend.
When they came to the Kutubkhali area, three local men forcibly took them to the second floor of a three-storied building in the area.
They tied her friend in one of the rooms and then raped the girl in another room by turns.
Hearing her screaming, neighbours informed a patrol police team who rescued the girl and caught the rapists red-handed, said Sub-Inspector Parimal Chandra of Jatrabari police station.
Police took the three rapists in their custody and sent the girl to the One-Stop Crisis Centre for treatment, the SI said.
