Armed Police Battalion (APBn) members have detained a person in possession with 12 gold bars at Shahjalal International Airport.
Detainee Habibur Rahman, 30, hailed from Nabinagar of Brahmanbaria, arrived at the airport by an Air Arabia flight around 9am Thursday.
Tanjina Aktar, assistant police super of Airport APBn, said the man had concealed the gold bars in a box of dates.
The gold bars are worth about Tk74 lakh, she said.
The officials said the detainee would be handed over to Airport police station.
