Customs Intelligence officials have detained a person with foreign currencies worth around Tk13.25 lakh at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (SIA) in the capital.
Md Al Mamun, of Comilla, was detained at Boarding Bridge 6. He was taking the currencies to Kuala Lumpur by an Air Asia flight Wednesday midnight.
Customs Intelligence Assistant Director Umme Nahida said: “The currencies include Euro 15,000 and Malaysian Ringgit 2,700 which were concealed in his waist belt.”
She said legal action will be taken against Mamum.
