Update : 21 Jul 2015, 06:49 PM

A review petition has been filed against a court order that rejected the naraji (no-confidence) petition against the charge sheet in a case filed in connection with the sensational seven murders in Narayanganj.

Selina Islam Beauty, widow of Narayanganj City Corporation panel mayor Nazrul Islam, one of the victims of the gruesome killing, filed the review petition with the court of district and sessions judge Syed Enayet Hossain yesterday.

The court is likely to hear the petition on August 9.

On July 8, the district court accepted the charge sheet rejecting the naraji (no-confidence) petition filed by Selina Islam Beauty.

On May 11, Selina Islam filed the naraji petition expressing her dissatisfaction over the exclusion of the names of five FIR-enlisted accused from the charge-sheet.

On April 8, detectives pressed charges against 35 people, including the three sacked Rab officials and Nur Hossain, now in an Indian jail, in connection with the seven murders.

After the murder of seven people, Selina Islam filed a case against six people while Advocate Chandan Sarkar’s son-in-law filed another case.

On April 27, Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam, his three associates and driver were abducted from Fatullah area of Narayanganj. Hours after their abduction, senior lawyer at District Judge’s Court Chandan Kumar Sarker and his driver were also abducted.

On April 30, the bodies of six people, including that of Nazrul and Chandan Kumar, were recovered from the Shitalakhya River. The following day, the body of Nazrul’s car driver was also recovered from the river.
