Members of Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested seven alleged hijackers in different areas of the capital on Sunday night.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Joint Commissioner of DB Monirul Islam said at a press briefing in DMP’s media centre yesterday that police arrested Toufiqul Islam alias Ronti, Md Alam Bhandari,Saiful Islam Munna, Meer Md Masum, Md Rasel, Md Sadek Fakir and Md Yusuf.
Among them, two were involved in car lifting at Capital’s Tejgaon area few days ago.
Ronti and Alam were arrested for their alleged involvement in lifting a private car after firing on it’s owner at capital’s Tejgaon industrial area around 3am on June 24.
In a drive, a team of police led by ASP Md Shariful Alam and Tarek, arrested five suspected hijackers from in front Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital around 10:30pm.
Separate cases were filed in connection with these incidents.
