Members of Rapid Action Battalion have rescued an abducted teenager and detained three suspected abductors from capital's Banani area.
Md Saiful Islam alias Tarek, 17, son of Md Tajul Islam, was rescued on Monday night.
RAB 1 Operation Officer Muhith Kabir said: "Saiful was abducted from Banani on Monday morning. Saiful's father received a phone call from the abductors asking for a ransom of Tk1 lakh in the afternoon."
He said: "Following a complaint filed by Tajul, RAB 1 offcials conducted a special drive and detained abductors Md Abdus Samad, Md Ujjal Mia and Md Abu Sayed along with abducted teenager."
Legal action will be taken against the abductors, he added.
