Mobile court fined Tk3.6 lakh, three factories sealed

Mobile courts yesterday sealed three polythene-making factories in the capital and fined four restaurants and food product factories. The courts in separate drives fined them Tk3,60,000.

A mobile court of Rab 1, led by Magistrate Md Firoz Ahmed and Sub Adjutant Md Haliuzzaman in the city’s Uttara Model Town area, fined the owners of Safe the City, Falguni Restora and Broccoli Restora Tk1,10,000.

The drive took place around 1:30pm to 3:30pm. The court gave a fine of Tk20,000 to Safe the City, Tk30,000 to Falguni Restora and Tk60,000 to Broccoli Restora.

In another drive at Bangshal in the Armanitola area, a mobile court led by Rab 2 executive magistrate Md Helal Uddin, in the presence of Rab 2 deputy director Md Didarul Alam and environment directorate Director Md Almgir, sealed three polythene-making factories – Shihab Printing and Press, Makka Printing and Press and Mim Printing and Press. The court also fined Tk50,000 to the owner of each factory.

Besides, another mobile court led by Rab executive magistrate Golam Sarowar at around 3pm at Staff Quarter area of Demra fined a food product factory for manufacturing food in an unhealthy environment.

The court fined the owner of Bhuiyan Food Products in the Demra area Tk1,00,000.
