A woman has been burnt in an acid attack in Boktarpur area under Kaliganj upazila in Gazipur.
Shumoti Rani Das came under the acid attack early Monday. She is the wife of Komol Chondro Das.
Kaliganj Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Abdul Alim said: “Shumoti was sleeping in her room when unidentified miscreants threw acid on her from the window around 2am Monday.”
“Hearing her scream, the family members went to her room and took her to upazila health complex,” he said.
Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex duty doctor Mousumi said: “Shumoti has been burned from her face till the abdomen. She is in a critical condition, so we have reffered her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
