Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested four fake DB policemen along with two women members of the group in the city.
The gang usually trapped people with the two women and later blackmailed the victims, RAB 1 Commanding Officer Tuhin Mohammad Masud said.
The arrestees are ring leader Md Khairul Alom Prokash alias Rabiul, 42, Md Pannu Miah, 35, Md Saiful Islam Niloy, 25, Md Khairul Islam Monir, 32, Shamima Akhter Trishna, 27, and Umme Tasnin, 19.
A RAB team led by Superintendent of Police (city and transport) of RAB 1 Mohammad Sumon Jahid Lovel, arrested Khairul and Pannu from Majibor Market of West Faidabad area of Daksinkhan police station around 11:30pm Thursday.
Based on their information, the team arrested four others near Uttara Girls High School of Uttara house building area.
The team also recovered one handcuff, three police ID cards, a camera used for blackmailing victims, Tk 22, 450, that was earned by blackmailing victims and nine mobile phone handsets.
