Housewife’s body found in reserve tank

Police recovered the body of Bristi allegedly murdered by her husband from the reserve tank of her  house in Mirpu 1 early yesterday.

Meanwhile, a Dhaka court yesterday granted the prime accused in the murder case on a three-day remand.

The court also granted a one-day remand for the caretaker and a two-day remand for the rest of the family members.

Md Mostafizur Rahman, the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate, granted the remand after police produced the accused with a seven-day prayer. 

Earlier police arrested Mohiuddin over the allegation of killing his wife Bristi Akhter,22.

Officer-in-Charge of Shah Ali police station said Bristi was missing from Saturday night after an altercation with her husband. 

Her family members suspected that Mohiuddin had killed and dumped her in the reserve tank.

Following their allegation police had arrested him and sent him to the court with remand plea, he said.

Family members of the deceased alleged that Mohiuddin and his other family members very often beat Bristi up for dowry.
